Life is Amazing
06:42
|
|||
There are things in this world that I’ll never understand,
the way a moment can linger,
like the memory of a baby holding your finger.
There are some things you just can’t forget,
you’ll try your hardest and yet.
When the day is done and your thoughts will go back to the start.
Sometimes I’m in pieces, sometimes broken down
and sometimes I’m ahead of it all, when trouble comes around.
Most of the time I just get along, and try my best to play my part
but when the day is done, and my thoughts go back to the start.
Life is amazing you better hang on to it
Life is amazing you better hang on to it
You have had your problems but I know you will survive
your power and your strength, has helped you through your life.
This message is for all of you, and I mean it from heart
cos’ when the day is done, my thoughts will go back to the start.
Life is amazing you’ve got to hang on to it
Life is amazing you better hang on to it
Life is amazing make sure you hang on to it
Life is amazing just try to hang on to it
People and places and so many faces
all of your pictures they mean so much.
Partners and lovers so many others
keep them around you you need their touch.
Magical moments don’t let them go
burning desires make sure that they grow.
Lifes big adventure is waiting for you
break down some boundaries
before you are through, before you are through,
before you are through.
Life is amazing
Life is amazing you’ve got to hang on to it
Life is amazing you better hang on to it
Life is amazing make sure you hang on to it
Life is amazing just try to hang on to it

Waiting Patiently
02:48
|
|||
So many problems I can see which ones are coming after me
we take our chances when we speak relieved to live another week.
I’m feeling tired and oh so small can’t find my energy at all
I guess I’ll have to let it be, and sit here waiting patiently.
There’s changes in the air today I put my worried thoughts away
bring out my optimistic view and try to get in touch with you.
Something dark is getting near I’ve got to fight to make it clear
I guess I’ll have to let it be, and sit here waiting patiently.
Waiting patiently, waiting patiently.
A film is showing in my brain I had to watch it all again
It’s like another short attack I want to get my money back.
Can I redeem myself to you I can’t decide what I should do
I guess I’ll have to let it be, and sit here waiting patiently.
Guess I’ll have to let it be, and sit here waiting patiently.

Living the Dream
04:53
|
|||
My music fortifies my soul keeps me grounded
stitches me back together when I’m falling apart
puts the pieces back where they belong before long
chords and melodies sustain me help me grow I know
there’s plenty still to come when I’m done I’ll hold no grudge
I’ll let you be the judge If I left my mark If I carried the spark
If I even knocked it out of the park.
Because I’m living the dream, yes I’m living the dream.
I wasn’t the best certainly not the worst
I dealt with my curse of anonymity
the place where I grew where nobody knew
how I tried in vain to show some of my pain
the way that I play the joy that I could bring
I hope that my creativity and insatiable appetite
for original musical expression
carries on from me to you within this song.
And I’m living the dream, living the dream.
Living the dream living the dream
I’ve got a home and a car and a big huge screen
I’ve got food in the fridge and fish in a tank
I’ve even got my health a little money in the bank.
I can pay my bills I’m still looking for thrills
I can walk by the sea nothing terrifies me
I’ve got all this stuff on any given day
I might just decide to give it all away.
Music is my religion my studio is my church
my songs are my hymns to me they mean so much
the things I have created are drawn from somewhere deep inside
the melodies and harmonies sometimes fill my heart with pride
there are no hidden agendas my lyrics speak of simple things
the world will not be changed by me I speak directly to you
although we’ve never met we’ll never know the future
parts of the past we will forget.

The Same Old Thing
05:12
|
|||
It’s just the same old thing
you’re shouting at me about nothing in particular.
Down the same old road
we’re both finding faults we didn’t know about each other.
Now tell me who’s to blame?
Is it you or me or are both of us as innocent.
We both feel the same
can we convince ourselves we really need each other, this time.
Chorus
And there’s so many things going through my head
so many things I’ve got to say to you.
So many things going through my mind
so many things I’ve got to do for you.
So many things going through my head
so many things I’ve got to say to you.
So many things going through my mind
so many things I’ve got to do for you.
It’s just the same old thing, It’s just the same old thing, again.
It’s just the same old line you call me names
I assassinate your character.
You hit the mark this time accusing me of living in a fantasy.
Now what is all this for, why don’t we act our age
and realize how good it is.
Before I turn this page, unfold another chapter of my life’s story,
again.
Chorus
It’s just the same old thing
you’re shouting at me about nothing in particular.
Down the same old road
we’re both finding faults we didn’t know about each other.
We both feel the same
can we convince ourselves we really need each other.
Now tell me who’s to blame?
Is it you or me or are both of us innocent, victims.
Chorus

Away Away
04:07
|
|||
Well, seafaring men all over the world they like to sing their songs.
On a moonlit night on a dead calm sea
where the words all come out wrong.
Away away you Johnny lad, life on the ocean is hard,
but sometimes it's not so bad.
Now these old salts they sing their songs
of the lassies they've left behind.
They think of them far too much that most of them are blind.
Away away you Johnny lad, life on the ocean is fun,
but soon it will make you sad.
And on the docks they gather round to sing their little ditties.
They dream of girlies so far away, and all of those great big cities.
Away away with you Johnny lad, life on the ocean is wet,
but soon it will make you sad.
They set their sails and think ahead of countries yet to come.
And the cabin boy he looks so sweet, when a sailor turns to rum.
Away away you Johnny lad, life on the ocean is queer,
but sometimes it will make you glad.
Away away you Johnny lad, life on the ocean is hard,
but sometimes it's not so bad.
Away away you Johnny lad, away away you go.

Big Screen Dream
06:44
|
|||
She looked like something, from a Tarantino movie.
Eyes like black holes, legs like scaffold poles.
Her heels were so high, pushed her head into the sky.
I was amazed by her gaze, I didn’t sleep for days.
She’s a big screen dream, a big screen dream,
She’s a big screen dream.
And when she left the room, all the air went out as well.
She was mine to steal, as far as I could tell.
She smelled so real, I reached out to feel.
She disappeared from my view, and then I knew.
She was a big screen dream, a big screen dream,
a big screen dream, who, are you?
She’s the girl that I’ve been waiting for, the kind I know I’ll never find.
She’s the one that I’ve been praying for,
she’d probably make me lose my mind.
She’s just a big screen dream, she’s a big screen dream,
She’s a big screen dream, who, are you.
I’ll never forget her, for as long as I breath.
Will she visit me again, and never never leave.
I might just bump into her, but what would could I say.
I’ll have to go on dreaming, just waiting for the day.
She’s a big screen dream, a big screen dream,
She’s a big screen dream, who are you?
She was a big screen dream, a big screen dream,
big screen dream, who are you?

The Lightning Tree
05:43
|
|||
I never knew all of her secrets, but some of them she shared,
we used to talk so intimately, she knew how much I really cared.
Meet me by the lightning tree, this is what she said to me.
I’ll be there and I’ll wait for you, I can only stay while the sky is blue.
I knew that she was lonely, and her time was not her own,
I hoped we’d be together, and our love could have grown.
Meet me by the lightning tree, I can’t forget her words to me,
When darkness comes, I will be gone,
there’s someone that will do me wrong.
My fear was that we’d be discovered,
and this would surely end in pain,
she would be taken away, I’d never see her again.
So I made my way to our meeting place,
across the river and straight ahead.
Then something flashed right in front of my eyes,
all the people though I was dead.
Meet me by the lightning tree, the last thing that she said to me,
I didn’t get there, I couldn’t come, when I arrived there was no sun.
Meet me by the lightning tree, I will never forget her words to me.
I waited all night but she was gone,
there is someone who did us wrong.
I will think of you, I will dream of you.
Where are you?
Meet me by the lightning tree, these are the words she said to me.

The Best Days
04:31
|
|||
Hey baby, I haven’t known you long, so why don’t we fall in love.
Hey baby, I need you in my life, so why can’t we fall in love.
These could be the best days of my life.
Hey baby, I’m listening to the rain, I can’t feel no pain.
Hey baby, I’ve everything to gain, I wanna feel the sun again.
These could be the best days of my life.
I’ve just got to tell you, you look fabulous.
And I can’t stop thinking, about the two of us.
Hey baby, I’m feeling good today, let’s take the coast path together.
Hey baby, I really have to say, it doesn’t matter about the weather
These could be the best days of my life.

Dreamland
06:30
|
|||
I lived in Margate in 1968,
in the big block of flats called Arlington House
beside Dreamland, the famous funfair.
It once became derelict and empty and unused and unloved,
then it was brought back to life.
It’s now successful again, a fun park and a music venue,
great memories by the sea in the sun during the summer holidays.
I must go back to Dreamland, Dreamland by the sea.
I have to go back to Dreamland, Dreamland waits for me.
My Dad played the piano in the Jolly Dog Bar
which was on the right hand side
down the entrance to Dreamland Park.
On Saturday nights there was a huge fireworks display,
but we couldn’t see it, our flat faced the other way.
We used to say that the people were so lucky,
the ones that lived on the other side,
they could see everything, including all the rides.
But what was nice for me, was during the day, looking out to sea.
I must go back to Dreamland, Dreamland by the sea.
I have to go back to Dreamland, Dreamland waits for me.
I remember the trampolines on the beach,
where I nearly broke my neck.
I went to Garlinge Primary School,
and got my 25 yard swimming certificate.
I remember shoving red liquorice sticks,
up the Crompton Cakewalk machines,
I’d watch all the pennies drop off,
bought me loads of Italian ice creams, nice.
I must go back to Dreamland, Dreamland by the sea.
I have to go back to Dreamland, Dreamland waits for me.

Peace
06:48
|
|||
Peace in our time, peace in our lives,
I would give anything to find some.
Peace for you, peace for them,
I would do anything to see some peace.
It has to be done, It has to be found,
we can’t go on this way we need some peace.
It can’t be all that difficult, peace is all we need.
Let’s all work together, plant the magic seed of peace.
Peace can heal, peace you can feel,
I would say anything to make some peace.
Peace in our time, peace in our lives,
I would give anything to find some peace.
Peace for us, peace for them,
Peace for you and me,
Peace in the world again.
We just need some love and peace in the world again.
